Got this today and used it. It worked as advertised in that fleas came off as I washed the dog. It has a nice smell and the dog is clean and temporarily flea free.
I took one star off for the applicator. This would be better with a trigger sprayer. Wrangling a 50lb dog and a slippery bottle trying to pump product was not fun. Of course, as soon as you start to apply you get some product on your hands, the bottle, and the pump…as you would with anything, and then you are wrangling the bottle AND the dog 🙂

I’ll put it in a pump sprayer and that will do the trick, but if the company ever redesigns the package I hope they will take this into account.

Last summer when visiting family my dogs both picked up fleas from the grass outside. We always have used Revolution for prevention but it was not working at all. . For 2 weeks I tried every kind of flea shampoo I could get my hands on, I also tried pills that supposedly would get into the dogs blood stream and kill the fleas on them (I just noticed my dogs going crazy itching when I used them). Finally I found this Vets Best and tried it.

I like a few things about it, first and foremost, it worked. Secondly it wasn’t packed full of crazy chemicals. It works as both a shampoo and a spray just to put on their coat (light misting works best). I washed my dogs with it and once dry lightly misted them (if you spray it on a wet coat and pet your dog it will foam up). Within a day no more fleas! The peppermint kills the fleas and keeps them away with the smell. It is an overwhelming peppermint smell.

We now travel with a bottle any time we go anywhere with our dogs. Right when I let them out of the car I give each a few sprays and I know I won’t have to worry about them picking up any fleas.

On another note. . We used to see spiders in our home in the spring, I lightly spray our curtains once and month and it keeps them out as well. Peppermint is great because it kill a wide variety of pests so they will avoid it.

First off, this is the first Time I’ve use a spray shampoo- I can’t believe how much less my Pomeranian hated taking a bath! Not having to get him wet first to get him sudsy seemed so much less traumatic for him, which made him less squirmy, which was easier on me:)
Ok so, aside from the ease of this being a spray, this flea shampoo really works! My two pups had suddenly come seriously infested, which we didn’t catch right away since our fur babies are so fluffy. We tried frontline, some industrial strength flea shampoo, natural things like neem and tea tree oil, and even a week later were unable to get all of them- my poor pups were miserable and their skin was getting irritated from the scratching and all the different flea products we were trying. I ordered this, thinking it probably wouldn’t be very good since it was so inexpensive/ but it ended up being the only thing that killed every flea and probably their eggs too since they never got another infestation! This stuff smells great- like cloves, and has a really nice lather that when you leave it on for a few minutes, you can actually see all the dead fleas float up to the top of the bubbles, but still very gentle on their already irritated skin
The only issue I have is with the bottle itself- the spray pump is a little difficult to use especially when your hands become wet and soapy, and doesn’t spray much product in one pump- my hands got tired so I ended up taking the cap off and ended up trying to pour the shampoo instead if spray which wasted a lot of product. It really should have a trigger style spray top!
Either way though, I fully recommend this if you’ve got a pup with fleas and I plan on using this again and again!

I bought this product after reading the mostly positive reviews, but sadly, it proved to be less effective against my dogs for some reason. My two mixed corgis have been plagued with fleas for a couple of weeks and I’ve tried a variety of different methods (cleaning their beds, spraying outside for mites, and washing them thoroughly as well as giving them flea medication), but nothing seems to work. I thought I might try something new and stumbled upon this product. Like many of us, I love my dogs and would do anything for them, so I thought why not, give it a try. The item arrived on time and in good condition. I took one of my dogs and started to wash him as directed by the bottle and he still itches. I thought maybe I needed to wash him thoroughly again and I tried that, but it still didn’t work. Then maybe I thought I would wait a few days or even give it a week to see if it started working….but it never did. I tried washing him one last time, but he still itches and I can still find fleas on him.

So sadly this product does not work for my dog, but maybe it will work for you. It’s not a product that will work for all situations, but anything that is organic and chemical free is worth a try in my book. I support the company, but it didn’t work for me.

A few years ago we lived in an area where fleas were an issue all year long. We have two dogs and little Rosie dog was tortured and tormented no matter what we used. The vet even doubled up on the preventive, using a tablet and the drops. Then she developed an allergy to the flea bites. I found this product online and because of it’s all natural ingredients, decided to give it a try. We sent both dogs to the vet for a treatment and overnight stay while I put flea bombs and sprayed the house and yard once again. Well, Rosie picked up fleas on the walk from the car to the house!! Once inside, I used the shampoo on both of them. Fleas were killed on contact and soon her skin began to clear up. I use the household spray for their bedding and carpets. Both dogs have sensitive dry skin and this shampoo soothes that so well, that even though we have no fleas, I continue to use the shampoo. In fact, I take it to the groomer to use on them when they get their haircut! By the way, it smells delicious! We still use the monthly preventive and the very important Heartworm preventive as well.
