Fantastic exactly as expected. Easy to install very sturdy. I like the fact that it has a visual check for the locking of the gate.

This safety gate is just what we needed for the kitchen. The entry way was too wide for most gates but this extended gate fits it with no issue. The gripped pressure mounted feet are firm and remain solid against the entry frame even from moderate bumps. The height is a good size to deter my cats from jumping over it (and luckily they’re too big and lazy to squeeze through the bars as well). That means I don’t have to worry about tripping on cats or my toddler approaching the hot stove when my back is turned.

Installation was very quick and I really like the “SecureTech” pressure check guide. That’s a smart design feature that I wish was on my other safety gates in the house so we know whether the gate has gotten loose over time. The latch mechanism is easy for adults to access and hard for toddlers to figure out – which is exactly how it should be.

Overall, this gate is a good size for my entry way, has a thoughtful design, and makes me feel safer about cooking around a very active toddler (and cats).

I really like how well-built this item is, and it’s tall enough that my dogs can’t jump over it. It opens and closes smoothly, and the price was right. It adjusted easily to the correct width and installed without tools.

La puerta es resistente, ajustable, me funcionó perfecto para poder separar a mi perro y mi gatita.
El único problema es que se trababa el coso para abrir la puerta, pero se la quite y sigue cumpliendo su función excelente .

Solid. Very nice appearance. Very EZ to use. Adjusts nice & tight.

So nice to buy an item & be impressed !!! So much junk out there today — this one is not. Extremely well made.

I ordered a separate set of wall cups. This item includes glue on felt type circular pads & wanted me to glue them on my painted wall so their included cups would not slip on wall. My cups work fine without my gluing pads onto my wall. There are cups available online for a bit over five dollars & well worth it. I just refuse to damage my walls by gluing what look similar to the felt pads used on furniture legs.

By no means is this a detractor from the excellent gate. It’s a very nice gloss white metal gate & can be installed in 15min.

I’m using for a puppy gate; it’s rock solid & would work well for children. It’s very solid & latches very securely.

I had one of these at the bottom of my steps and loved it so much that I ordered a second for the top of another set of steps. It’s super easy to install – pop the wall things in, spin so it fits in desired space, then spin the other way to tighten until snug. You can tell it’s snug when the gate squeezes and locks into place. I got it for separating dogs and cats (my cat is thankfully not a jumper, and very respectful of barriers – though a small or determined cat or small dog could squeeze through or jump over) but I can also confirm, visiting toddlers couldn’t figure out how to open it.

I have 4 kids so I’m not a noob to baby gates. That said, we do have a dog that we like to keep out of certain areas of the house, especially when guests are staying over as he has a tendency to “mark his territory” but only when people are staying with us. He isn’t a pushy dog, meaning he’s not going to challenge a gate or jump over it.

I got this gate specifically for a few reasons:
    – wide opening – the opening in question is 46″ and not many walkthrough gates can expand that far
    – it doesn’t require hardmounting, meaning noting screws into the wall/walkway unless you want to (even the included doublestick pads aren’t necessary)
    – the walkthrough feature works either way
    – tensioning/adjustment seems easy

Installation was a breeze; there are 2 side extensions in the box, just choose your width and select the number of extensions you need (consult easy chart/assembly instructions provided), move around some of the included inserts, put in the tensioning assemblies (bolts with rubber pads on the end), put in the opening, and tension away. The trickiest part is getting the tension right on both sides of the gate such that it doesn’t bow or otherwise throw the entire thing out of alignment or the latch mechanism won’t line up. As I mentioned, you don’t have to use the included “cups” that adhere (or screw) to the wall/jamb – the adjustment tensioning pads are rubber so they grip the wall fairly well anyway.

What might be an issue for some is that the latch is a compound one and does not autolock simply by shutting the gate – it requires you to manually latch/lock it every time. So, I’m not sure I’d use this where you need an easy walktrough and relock. At the top/bottom of stairs it might be tricky as well (e.g. if you’re carrying something).

All in all a good gate that looks nice, was easy to install and didn’t break the bank.

I personally like the gave for the purpose I had in mind: keeping two Shih-tzu out of the living room. It is 90% metal and 10% injection molded plastic/resin. I feel that if this gate is used by a single person, and with patience, not hurrying, or forcing the latch, it should work. Because it is a plastic, spring loaded mechanism for the latch, a family of 4 or five, and lots of thru-traffic, I can see that the mechanism would likely fail quickly. I will come back and make an update should the gate fail. There is a registration card for this Gate to register your product.
I would NOT put this at the top of stairs since the pieces that are on the walls are slick, not rubbery, and do not cling. Pressure over 15lbs or so will make this gate move. A toddler, medium dog, or someone trying to get through and losing balance would definitely risk displacing the gate from its placement, and falling down the stairs. If the gate can be placed at the bottom of the stairs, away from the staircase, but blocking access, that would be the best location. The other option is finding another attachments online that anchor the gate to the wall with permanence, like long wood screws or drywall mounts.
The latch need to be worked in two steps. 1. Push a spring loaded button 2. Press a spring loaded button. The springs are hard for arthritic thumbs to work. There are screws on one side of the latch where the mechanism can be accessed and replaced. I like this feature.
The gate can open in two directions, but small stoppers on the bottom of the gate can be flipped down to secure the gate to be only accessible from one side. This is a nice feature for stairs, if you anchor it properly. It is also nice when you have small dogs who want to dart through it. Opening it towards them gives them less of a chance to dart through.
As far as how “sturdy” this gate is, it is as sturdy as it will be treated. If a 100lb dog jumps on it day after day, it won’t last. If 5 people are passing through it 25 time EACH every day, it will not last long. However, for pricepoint, and material(not wooden, not all metal, not professionally installed), it is more sturdy than I expected. The bars are bigger in diameter than I expected, and they are welded in place on a metal framed gate door. Many gate have the bars loose, and many have one side of the gate being plastic.
This gate has replaced a piece of unpainted, old, plywood. After a year of moving it back and forth, I decided this was better. The plywood protected the molding from the puppy through teething, and allowed her to scratch to no avail when she was left in the kitchen. This gate will hold her in, and will allow easier access to each room. It took me a total of 20 minutes to unbox, remove the plywood to the garage, place the 4 pressure pieces in place, get all four pressures to work to make the gate frame square, and then to clear away the box, two extra rods and plastic extensions for a larger doorframe. My doorframe is only 29 inches wide because this is an older home, ranch style. I did not need to read the directions to install this gate – it is simple.
Please view the video(not professional, but plain-speak), if you want a closer look.
