I bought this collar after the one I got with the wireless fence came apart. It hooked right up and works just fine.

Nice for containing our pets. Works great

ok so i’ve owned this product for a month. I have a 40lb pitbull and a 60lb pit/wof. I trained them for like 2 days. didn’t go all that great. I’m hard of hearing so i really didn’t know when it started beeping so it was hard for me to tell when they were getting warned. I didn’t put the collars on tight enough to make good contact either. Anyways i stopped training after two day. I tightened the collars and pretty much let them go. My dogs learned really fast not to pass the border. The collars shock them good enough to make them yipe and head back into the perimeter. They don’t test it whatsoever. If i walk out of the perimeter they stop right at the edge and watch me. They don’t run to the neighbors house anymore when they are outside. The perimeter is a lot bigger than u might imagine.

One thing to watch out for is make sure the post are tightened good when u get it. Amazon overnighted me a new collar because one of the post came off in the yard. No chance in finding it. They were great! This thing has changed my dogs lives for the better. I can leave them outside without worrying about them running into the road or harassing the neighbors (who love them but they seem to not listen to me when the neighbors are outside) Very happy i made this investment. I take them off the dogs once they get inside. It sounds a little inhumane to shock them but its better than scraping them off the road or getting a complaint from the neighbor.

Edit: I’ve had this product for some time now. A couple of suggestions especially if you have hyper dogs that play with each other a lot. replace the collar (not the shock part) with one that has metal buckles and stay clear of plastic. I’ve replaced mine twice before i learned my lesson and my dogs almost destroyed the shocking mechanisms. The plastic clasp on the original collar is THIN. One my dog bit off the female dog while playing. The other i’m not so sure if it just broke due to how thin it was or due to the fact it was freezing outside or the other dog or a combination of all of them. My batteries in both collars now are held in by duct tape because they chewed them up when they came off and the batteries fall out. I contacted petsmart to see if they had a repair place because the only thing actually wrong with it were the plastics and they still worked but they do not. They did offer me a 30% discount (which is still well over $80 dollars). I know it wasn’t a fault of the companies but mine.

My male wolf/pit is about 90 lbs now and still doesn’t test it. He knows however what it is for and when its not on him.

You have to have this collar on pretty tight for a good skin/contact connection. Fit it while they are standing up.

I bought these collars at walmart and modified them.

This collar is a spare, and I am now free to keep one at home and travel with the other. It is large, comfortable for my dog, and I have begun to remove it when she comes inside from playing. It seems easy to clean, and is visible at a distance. Would not want to be without this system. Hope they make these collars for a smaller type dog in the future, as my friends are envious of this but their little mutts run away constantly. This is a wonderful control and Amazon was speedy in processing my order. Thanks to PetSafe.

My dog, a German Shepherd/cattle dog mix, HATES delivery trucks. He’s the only dog I’ve ever seen that bites tires when the vehicle isn’t moving. He also thinks that the deer that sometime come onto my property are large squirrels. Even though he chases both of these arch enemies, he hasn’t broken containment established by the invisible electronic bubble set up by the PetSafe base unit. The collar gives its warning beep and the dog skids to a stop. It works! This is the third collar I’ve purchased over a period of about ten years. I don’t know why they stop working but the price is cheap when compared to what the loss of a dog would cost.

Works great , I have three dogs they all wear these collars usually the batteries are dead but they still respect them , no harm is done to the dogs even if they do get a shock they learn very fast I will never try to hard train a puppy. It’s easy and fast to train with one of these collars

They don’t Zap my dogs for warning it beeps but no Zap and yes I tested it with tester and theirs nothing iam not happy for the price I paid very not happy if you can help I’d be happy to leave a good review but right now iam not happy

  8. Melissa Jarbeau

The collar is pretty cheap and can be replaced if you buy a good one and just use an electric soldering iron to melt two holes in it to mount the receiver. The receiver is tough and even stands up to a dog chewing on it for a short time. It is also waterproof which is a good reason not to get the rechargeable one. Batteries are not cheap but they each last about 3 months and are worth wayyyyyyyy less than your best friend.

I used this collar off and on for a little over a year and it doesn’t work properly anymore.

  10. JMF

It keeps the dogs in the yard!

  11. Robin B.

My dogs were staying in boundary.

  12. Breanna S.

My husky is 14 years old. She was hit by a car when she was around 2. I have had this system ever since. I use it with the electronic fence transmitter, obviously. About 5 years in, the transmitter stopped working; the company that makes them sent me a new one without any questions asked! I always recommend this system, even if you have an invisible fence installed, because if you’re like me and you go ice fishing, camping, etc, as long as you have a power source, your dog can come with you leash-free and they get used to the tone and automatically go back to “home.” I simply walk my dog around the new perimeter when we first get there, walking her back to my car or whatever I’m using for power, and we’re good to go! I can’t recommend this system enough.

Works great. The original collar fell off in the Fall. We didn’t worry too much in the winter because he stayed pretty close to the house because it was warmer there. Spring came and the dog started running again. We live off the highway. Got the replacement collar. The dog remembered what it was and didn’t want to leave the front step. Took him about a week to follow us in the yard to remember his boundaries.

People would tell us why would you give him a shock collar? It is so cruel. It’s less cruel than him getting hit by a transport truck and we know he is safe playing in the yard.
