Did not fit well; had to be cut to fit the wall tunnel.

The product is far over-priced for what it is. It is a cheap piece of plastic and nothing more. It does not fit the opening of doggie door model that it is supposed to fit according to the instructions on the doggie door owners manual. Rather than take the time to re-package and send it back my builder and I decided to throw it in the dumpster.

Overpriced
It’s plastic people.
husker girl –
Item was slightly bowed but works great as extension piece as our outside walls are thick
Sagrace –
It was exactly what I needed for a very thick wall installation… had no problems installing it using this product.

Overpriced and a waste of time. I bought it for a thru-wall application where I needed about 7-3/4 to 8 inches to get through a 2×6 stud wall (5-1/2″), interior drywall (1/2′), exterior stucco (1″) and 1″ insulation foam.
The original telescoping door tube was conveniently 1″ too short for a 2×6 wall construction. Geesh. Get with the program as modern energy efficient houses don’t have 2×4 exterior walls anymore and your PetSafe dog door advertised as working on a 6″ wall doesn’t work on wall that actually has insulation.
I ended up constructing my own thru-wall extension with some 1/4″ hardboard and a table saw. I cut a rectangle sized for the top, bottom, left and right sides, and it was pinched in placed between the interior and exterior dog door frame. A much nicer, cleaner, smoother solution that presented no gaps or air holes for bugs (i.e. scorpions) or the weather.

We have not put it in yet, but the product is sturdy and will keep all the weather out.

Very disappointed for this was my 2nd install and the wall extension didn’t come with screws. I see it was listed as no hardware included, but my fault for not reading it completely for I assumed it was like the first purchase that came with screws. It also doesn’t fit like the first one I needed to chaulk inside & outside for there are alot of gaps. It is very easy to install and it’s the only option you have if putting in between the exterior & interior wall.
