Es gibt tatsächlilch keine vergleichbare Maschine die sowohl das Futter so sicher aufbewahrt und (vor allem) ausgibt und dann auch noch wahlweise mit Netzstecker betrieben werden kann. Leider ist der Adapter trotz des hohen Preises nicht dabei.
Ich habe dafür einen 9V (statt 10V) Universal-Adapter genommen und das klappt prima. Passen tut auch der:

Der Kater kommt lediglich an ein paar Stücke die noch nicht runtergefallen sind und keinesfalls an den Vorrat der bei dieser Maschine wirklich gut gesichert ist. Die Menge die er mit der Pfote evtl. erwischt ist sehr begrenzt und kommt bei der nächsten Mahlzeit dafür weniger raus. 🙂
Es wird ein Gummi-Förderbad verwendet wobei eine Mulde des Förderbandes einer Portion entspricht.
Natürlich kann die Portionsanzahl eingestellt werden. (Stufung der Menge daher etwas grob aber i.O.) Dieses Förderband macht ein Erreichen des Vorrates mit der Pfote wirklich unmöglich.
Die vier megafetten D-Batterien (bei den meisten Geräten müssen solche verwendet werden) habe ich mir zur Sicherheit auch geleistet denn wenn der Netzstecker abgezogen wird geht die Maschine sofort in den Batteriebetrieb (und umgekehrt). Super bei Stromausfall.
Auch eine Funktion die man ansonsten vergeblich sucht.
Das Geräusch beim Runterfallen des Futters, das hier schon bemängelt worden ist, ist doch echt sowas von egal – da hört die Katze wenigstens von weitem wann es Mampfe gibt. (bei uns von Vorteil da das Gerät im Carport steht)
Ich kann es wirklich voll empfehlen und hätte schweren Herzens einen Stern abziehen müssen weil das Ding so teuer ist – den Stern gibt es aber wieder drauf weil es echt das einzige Gerät ist, das es schafft so einwandfrei zu funktionieren und die Netzfunktion bietet.
Denn ich hab keine Lust alle paar Wochen vier D-Batterien wegzuschmeißen und Neue zu kaufen.
Der Preis ist wirklich enorm aber es gibt im Moment keine Alternative die diesem Gerät das Wasser reichen kann.
Da bei mir der Ring für die Schale bei mir schon kapputt war, (gebrauchtes Gerät als neu verkauft – Wolffstore_GmbH – Teilbetrag erstattet) habe ich mir ein Brett mit Stoppern als Unterlage gemacht das die Schale am Gerät hält – das ging sehr einfach und ist bombensicher.
Nach langer Suche habe ich dieses Gerät gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden damit.
Ich habe mir viele Maschinen sehr genau angesehen. Alles andere was ich so gelesen habe scheint dagegen echter Schrott zu sein.
Hierfür aber volle Empfehlung!

I have done extensive reading about this feeder (publicity and customer reviews) before getting it on Amazon.
Prior to getting it, I had had a hard time choosing between the PetSafe Feeder and the Pet Feedster. Because the latter offered more options, I went for that one first. But I had to return it because it was defective and I was disappointed with the general feeling of fragility of the feeder. So I would not replace the defective one by another one of the same brand. (see my review of the product).
I was pleasantly surprised with the Petsafe feeder that I ordered after returning the Pet Feedster. I expected it to be a second best. But, I am very happy with it. It is more robust, easier to clean, the buttons respond well and all the options – including the quantity of food delivered (exact amount) – work like a charm.
Some reviews mention that the instructions are complex and that it is necessary to keep the book at hand at all time.
I disagree.
This is NOT a PLUG and PLAY feeder (same was true of the Pet Feedster and probably for most other automatic feeders on the market). It is necessary to take the time to read and follow the instructions in order to set it up right, but it is well worth your time and effort.
But the instructions are CLEAR, WELL ILLUSTRATED and EASY TO FOLLOW and everything happens/works as the book says it will.
There are 3 kinds of scheduling, “dog” “cat” and “user”.
The two first ones are preprogrammed and can be set very quickly. So if your dog of cat has no special need or if you are in a hurry, you can be done more quickly using one of those two settings. But the “user” scheduling is the real gem. It offers the most versatility (love it!).
The “user” setting is EASY and QUICK. There is really no big deal here even if it is your first time at this kind of thing. And YOU WON’T GET STUCK because any mistake can be corrected. Take a moment to read how it can be done. It’s just a few steps. And you can do it quickly, It works really well. The feeding quantities can be from 1/8 of a cup to 4 cups – and they will be served EXACTLY (I measured)
Very straight forward. The buttons have a good and sure feeling to them.
CAREFUL, there’s ONE STEP that is EASY to FORGET because you may think you are done AFTER adding the FOOD in the hopper. It only takes seconds for the machine to do, but YOU must push the buttons to make it happen. It is “PREPARE the CONVEYOR with FOOD.” That step is the only one I find easy to miss because it is a little counter intuitive. That step is in the sequence of instructions but COULD BE MISSED.
I have set up my PetSafe without problems and quickly. I did not need to contact consumer support for help because everything is clear and up to date in the guide.
I would strongly suggest reading STEP ONE completely (cleaning & assembling) and STEP TWO (Initial Setup) all the way to “Operating mode” BEFORE starting to set up the machine – the second part of Step Two (starting with “Operating Mode”) can be read after the set up..
ALSO, The conveyor must be washed and air dry before first use (HAND washed) it does NOT go in the dishwasher plus NO HOT WATER. Also it must air dry completely before assembling. I used a few paper towels (do NOT use tissues, they will leave paper dust) and let it air dry in the suggested position in the guide.
The other “washable parts” can go in the upper part of a dishwasher. Also need to air dry before assembling.
N.B. The control panel and the base unit cannot be immersed/submerged in water
Some people have said it was difficult to modify the programming. I have to disagree. I have modified the time & quantity being fed to my cat several times already and it is incredibly EASY to do! Just you read about it once, you will see.
As for keeping the book handy, all you really need, once the initial setting is done, is to have that QUICK GUIDE sheet at hand.
That sheet comes as a stand alone sheet in addition to the manual. One side features the ICON QUICK GUIDE (you don’t really need that side): the back reads “5-BUTTON NAVIGATION QUICK GUIDE”. That’s the side you need.
It’s a quick reference to the 7 basic functions: Read/change time, Temporary suspend meals, Enter or exit slow feed mode, Get an immediate feed, Make changes to the schedule (programming), Unlock the navigation buttons, Prepares the conveyor with food.
I have laminated my quick guide and posted it at eye level above the feeder.

I will refer to it when CLEAN the machine – there are a few steps for maintenance that are different from the initial cleaning – (pausing the machine, cleaning the “crumb basket” of the conveyor and cleaning the conveyor belt, and I want to be sure to do the sequence right)

Macchina pratica e comoda e con il sistema a nastro trasportatore delle crocchette non si è mai bloccata.
Piccolo appunto anche a me ogni mese il timer sballa di 1 minuto. Ed aggiungerei che se avessero messo compreso nel prezzo l’alimentatore sarebbe stato un bel gesto, comprarlo a parte originale è costoso per essere un banale trasformatore.
Comunque ottimo prodotto che mi garantisce piena autonomia. Ottimo marchio di cui ho anche la gattaiola automatica.

Our cat situation was starting to look hopeless, to the point where I was ready to find another home for one of them. We’d gotten 2 sisters as kittens for our children from the shelter and they’d grown into adults with very different personalities and eating habits. One cat cannot control the speed with which she eats, which causes her to vomit immediately afterwards on our rugs. That causes her to be instantly hungry and then go foraging for food on the kitchen counters. Which her stomach cannot handle and she then throws up. The other cat is a slow eater with a dominant personality that prevents the other cat from accessing food when left out in the open. So they have to be separated during feeding. We tried the slow feed bowls but it didn’t change anything — small portions left them hungry and large portions turned into vomiting. We were feeding them small portions of wet food: 5,6,7 times a day. Still, they were constantly hungry, begging for more food, searching for it in the kitchen. They were waking my wife up at 4:30 am every morning, demanding to be fed. And the vomiting continued. Ridiculously expensive in time and money and completely unsustainable.
So this expensive purchase was a last ditch effort to save the vomiting cat, beloved by my daughter, from being removed from the home. I didn’t expect it would change anything. I chose this one because it allowed for really small portions, combined with 12 different time presets, and a slow feed option. I needed and used all of those features.
Some product notes:
You’re going to have to spend some time reading the manual. The user interface is not super intuitive and you’ll have to pay attention to set it up properly the first time. You’re going to also need some time to adjust those settings until you figure out what works best for you and your cats. I also don’t think that the slow feed setting has any impact on the smallest portion size, it seems to dump out the full portion. But.
It works. We are about a month in. And this machine has changed everything. We now feed them 1 or 2 small portions of wet food a day, based on what is convenient for the humans’ schedule. The machine takes care of the rest, resupplying the bowl with small portions of dry food every few hours.
No more constant begging. The vomiting has almost been eliminated (has occurred only when the machine ran out food). No more 4:30am wake up calls. No evidence of them foraging on the kitchen counter. They are visibly more relaxed. I’ve even observed that the vomiter is eating more slowly.
We’re buying a lot less wet food. So the machine should pay for itself at some point, assuming no breakdown. But more importantly, it has saved my sanity and my daughter from heartbreak of losing her cat.

De momento es la mejor tolva automática que he tenido. Los plásticos son de buena calidad y el plato és de acero inoxidable. Muy fácil de programar. Se pueden dispensar hasta 12 comidas al día. Muy útil cuando tienes muchos gatos como yo. Se pueden desmontar todos los componentes para lavarlos. Y lo más importante: EL PIENSO NO SE ATASCA NUNCA! El único pero que le pondría es que el aro que sujeta el plato es un poco endeble

We absolutely love this. We’ve used it for 3.5 years now and it has been very reliable. We have never had it not dispense, and it has always dispensed the right amount (just make sure it has enough kibbles in it). We leave home and come back whenever we want or even go on vacation for a couple of days and know that the cat is fed. Our cat is super food motivated and if we were the ones to feed her, we know she would beg us all day so it’s very helpful that she knows this dispenser gives her the food and not us. The battery also lasts a very very long time, we have only changed it once if I remember correctly. The only problem with it is that the time changes very slowly. For example, if I set it to 11 am, after a month, the cat is eating at 10:50 am. But that’s not a big deal for us and we just change it back. There are sooo many fat cats around even in high-income families. I am so surprised because something like this is a very very easy solution and I always suggest it to everyone I see. It’s a good price for the convenience you get for sooo many years!

Après une expérience malheureuse avec un autre distributeur pas cher, où les distributions sont très souvent incomplètes car la roue de distribution de bloque, ce produit PetSafe semble être le produit fiable que je cherchais. La programmation est facile à faire et à modifier, et le système de distribution par convoyeur avec petits compartiments sur le tapis de convoyage parait très fiable (jusqu’à maintenant en tout cas). Il n’y a aucun risque que le convoyeur se retrouve bloqué par une croquette, et donc que l’animal manque de nourriture. L’avancement du convoyeur est plutôt silencieuse, le bruit vient surtout des croquettes qui tombent dans la gamelle métallique, bruit que l’animal a vite compris comme étant une invitation à venir manger.
Des essais sont à faire la première fois bien sûr pour mesurer la correspondance entre les mesures de l’appareil en millilitre et le poids délivré de ses croquettes habituelles. C’est facile à faire grâce à la fonction de chargement du convoyeur qui fait avancer le convoyeur de 8 compartiments.
