Full of crap, does not work

  2. KGonzalez

We found this spray does keep the dogs away but you do have to spray often, like at least once or twice a day. It has a very strong smell that repels dogs. I can’t speak for other animals.

This product worked for one dog and not another.

We have a lot of dogs in my development. I’m a dog lover – I have one myself – but I don’t want them peeing on my shrubs! My doorbell camera kept capturing video of the culprits. My HOA wouldn’t allow me to put up a sign asking dog walkers to direct their pups elsewhere, so I bought this repellent. The citronella smell is definitely a deterrent – they notice it, they take a couple of sniffs, and they move on. It’s not an ugly smell that will bother the humans. I spray this every three days or so, as well as after any significant rainfall. The first couple of times I used it, the sprayer was leaking, and I started using latex gloves so I didn’t have the scent on my hands. I was able to tighten the sprayer top to prevent leakage, although it took some trial and error to get it just right. So far so good.

After spraying it was on small rocks in the flower bed s and our dog went over to them when they dried and dug them up. Defeated the purpose.

This is horrible. Could never recommend. I sprayed where i didn’t want my dogs to pee. They go over and pee right on it. I cleaned it up with an odor killer. Spayed again. Same results. Very pricey for something that doesn’t work. It also smells horrible! I spray and my daughter immediately went into coughing fits. I could never recommend this product.

Bought it and didn’t work for my 2 dogs. Tried it for my neighbours and same thing. Don’t waste your money

Bottom line up front: this stuff is a miracle. I have been using it regularly with my 9 mo old husky puppy for about 6 months now and it still deters her. It only lasts about 2-3 days before it needs to be reapplied, but it works on all surfaces. A couple things to note: you will need to use more of it on fabrics than solid surfaces. It also leaves a residue on whatever you spray. My furniture is all deep espresso brown, with white spray residue. It is water soluble so it wipes off easy enough if I have company coming over, just be aware. I haven’t had any trouble with it staining fabrics, but it still leaves that residue and it is a dirt magnet. I have to shampoo my carpeted stairs once a month to keep them looking decent.

    Longer story:
My pup loves to chew everything she shouldn’t and I never imagined she would (preferably anything wood, but she’ll go for aluminum or plastic as a last resort). She started with the carpeted stairs. I tried the Bitters stuff, and it worked for maybe a day before she decided it was a tolerable enough to continue shredding the stairs. I tried some other products with the bitter flavor and none work. I found this spray at Petco one day and noticed it has different active ingredients so I gave it a shot. I sprayed the carpet (and now exposed wood) and was happy to note she was deterred.

Unfortunately, she found other things to chew that hadn’t been sprayed, like other stairs, baseboard trim, my couch legs, rugs, and coffee table. She doesn’t get to chewing when I’m home, but for days I have to be gone for the day, I always take a few minutes to spray everything down that she might want to chew, even if she hasn’t tried yet (including wall corners). It is such a relief that I’m not coming home to piles of loose carpet anymore. I go through about a bottle per month, but its worth it.

This works! I bought this to use outside around my plants that sit near the sidewalk. I was tired of seeing my neighbor walking his dog and letting him pee on my property. I sprayed the entire front of my property along the street and now that little dog just tootles right in past. I will be happy to reapply if he starts up again.

This product does mot work as we used it several and had no results from usage. Our dog kept urinating at the same area we sprayed to keep him from not urinating …….,he would return back to urinate

  11. Rod V

It clearly comes as advertised as far as the ingredients go (you can smell the citronella). However it did not work at all for me. My dogs just ignored it and kept going where I applied this to keep them away.
