I was a little skeptical about the claims made and reviews. My dog has horrible allergies and scratches way to much. Oatmeal shampoo even made her itch. And sprays, they all claim miracles and none have been worth the money. This stuff is a little pricey, but even with just one use there was a difference. She is a Belgian Malinois and they shed all year long and lots of it. On top of shedding, she is allergic to environmental factors and would lick her paws or bite herself sore. Trust me, I tried a lot of things, cheap to expensive and nothing helped. The shampoo is thick but not so thick that its hard to rinse, the conditioner is very light-both easy to rinse and smell very pleasant without being over whelming. The spray…is AMAZING, lightly scented, not greasy, not harsh, I spray her before we go out so she wont lick it off or if she is over scratching, I will spray her lightly. These products have eased her itching, she smells better, stopped her biting and to top it all off……the SHEDDING has eased up. She looks healthier and is much happier. She can now play without stopping every 2 mins to scratch. Not a CURE, she still scratches as all dogs will do, but not excessively like a dog in allergy hell. THANK YOU for finally making a product that helps my pet.

I actually purchased this a few months ago for one of our cats that has a lot of trouble with skin dermatitis due to allergies. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats and also foster for a local no kill shelter, so we always seem to be in need of something for one animal or the other. We used it once on the cat (which I will get to next) put it in the closet and I just pulled it out a couple days ago for our dog and thought I should come on and share my experience with this one because it really did help – although I don’t know that the cat would agree!

We first used this on a cat with allergic dermatitis. She will scratch herself until her hair is falling out and her skin is all scabbed up. We have tried different foods and such and it will clear up, but when she gets started again it is a cycle that is tough to stop. We ordered this and it did help a lot. However – she HATED it. Hated. No cat loves to be soaked down, but she took this as a personal insult and a trip into torture. She went into the back of the closet and didn’t come out until the next day. It really did seem to calm her itching though and she did not get sick from it ~ and I guarantee she sat in that closet licking all night. So I am confident it is non toxic but cat friendly? Well she would tell you no. I think when she has a flare up again we are going to try wiping it on with a cloth or something. The idea of SPRAYING a cat…well it was a tough job to say the least. I would do it again though 100% if she starts her scratching because it calmed her skin right down.

What prompted me to come on and write is how well it worked for our dog! I don’t know why I was having a brain dump – I guess because it was purchased for the cat but this worked wonders for our dog! We have a medium size, short hair rescue with a therapist’s dream worth of OCD and anxiety issues. One of her issues is licking and scratching. We have had her to the vet on several occasions and his view is she gets itchy and then can’t stop. She becomes obsessive about it until she has herself bright red and sore. Like when talking about bugs and then itching all over? Well she has an itch which apparently just leads to more and more itches. She drives me nuts having to scold her every 3 minutes for itching and licking. Last night this popped in my head and I thought why not? I sprayed her well and went back to what I was doing. I scolded her maybe two or three times (and part of the licking was from being wet I think) and later realized I had not had to intervene in a long time! She was sleeping soundly and looked perfectly comfortable. I am not sure how much we will use this to soak the crazy cat but it is now kept right in the “dog basket”. If it means not having to constantly scold this poor dog for itching til she loses her mind it is well worth it for me! She never sleeps that peacefully for that long! I feel so bad it had been upstairs with the cat supplies all this time and I didn’t think of it!

It also makes me very comfortable that both the dog and cat have licked at this with zero adverse affects. It states it is non toxic but animals have a way of throwing up from everything and ruining whatever they are closest to ~ this didn’t have any negative affects for either of them!

I also really liked the smell! Light but clean and did not make them gross and greasy. The dog even smelled good hours later and THAT is a feat since she stinks from constantly licking! This is SO much easier than trying to give them medication which I hate doing. This is definitely a product I can attest to and recommend to both dog and cat owners! I am considering buying the shampoo for the dog…the cat…well she might actually murder me, but if we can put a stop to how sore the dog makes herself it would be a miracle! But for now spraying her down is not a big deal and so, so glad she can get some peace! (Which means I have some peace!)

Hope this could be helpful to someone out there ~ I am always happy to answer any questions about any products I have reviewed!

My now 10 year old German Shepherd dog, developed a skin irritation. He had bad flaky, scaly dry skin along his back & hind end, he was very uncomfortable & scratching & chewing at himself. I did not want to put him on the usual Veterinarian recommendations of topical steroids & antibiotics, as I found this makes the situation worse! So, I researched this product & was so pleased to find it available on Amazon.ca ! It works great, after one dose the swelling & redness & bleeding & overall itchiness & odor dissipated & he found relief ! After a weeks treatment, the scaly skin healed perfect, & his hair came back. You must follow the treatment program & soak to the skin as scaly skin migrates in the coat. This has been a great drug free alternative treatment & causes zero pain, even when applied to bleeding skin ! I highly recommend this product if you have tried everything else like I did ! Thank you EQyss Micro-Tek !

After 9 days I don’t notice it’s effectiveness at all. I am using this while waiting for her new diet to rule out allergens. I hate chemicals in my house and anything non-organic honestly.

I’ve been struggling for almost ten years with a cat that pulls her fur out and creates wounds on her skin from excessive grooming. I’ve taken her to multiple vets. I’ve done antiobiotcs, steroids, and (ridiculously expensive) allergy medication. I’ve even done flea treatments despite the fact that I think it would be obvious if my cat had fleas for a decade. I’ve also tried other sprays like antimicrobial silver spray and coat conditioning sprays. None of this worked.

I’d resigned myself to having a cat in a cone for the rest of her life until I came across a mention of this product in, of all places, my marketing textbook. I started using it immediately and then a week later took the cone off the cat. Her skin and coat continues to look healthy. There’s been very little fur pulling and no new injuries. The red, inflamed tissue in her armpits is completely back to normal. She scratches significantly less and doesn’t over groom as much.

The only real negative is that the sprayer that comes with the bottle makes a very loud hissing noise exactly like a cat hissing which startles the cat. I’ve learned to squeeze the trigger slowly and let it trickle on to her hot spots until they’re damp. Also, the initial smell is very strong and I personally prefer products with no added fragrance, but I think it also stinks so bad it keeps the cat from licking those spots immediately after the treatment which interrupts her cycle of excessive grooming.

It’s only been a few weeks and I’m still treating her 1-2 times daily but her fur has completely grown back in places where she’d previously ripped the fur out to bare skin. That’s big progress since typically she’d be bald and bloodied again within hours of having the cone off.

    UPDATE:

About a week after my initial review, I noticed that my cats hair started falling out in tufts around the wound just by her licking it. I don’t know if this was due to the spray or due to the healing process but it was only around one of the 3 spots I’d been spraying so I think it was more likely related to her body finally being able to heal the skin. Amazingly, she has not gone back to pulling out fur since the treatment and the bald spot is filling back in. I’ve been dealing with her fur pulling for close to five years now so this, to me, is a miracle.

I’ve started using the spray again because there were thick scabs in her armpits from her previous biting and scratching that she started scratching again. She seems to tolerate the spray now, though it’s still not her favorite thing. I am so thankful I found this product as it’s the only thing I’ve tried that both helped heal the wounds and stop the pulling/biting.
