Works like name-brand alternatives, but cheaper. I found a tick on my dogs chest a couple days after application, but it was dead and I just brushed it off (no the head was not buried). So it obviously works, and glad I can get name brand quality at a discount price.

But it only works for 3 weeks then I have to reapply.

I’ve been using a monthly topical flea and tick treatment that has different active ingredients (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, and Pyriproxyfen). It seemed to be working fine at preventing ticks, and since we live in an area where Lyme, anaplasmosis, and other tick-borne diseases are common, I was satisfied. Until my dogs caught fleas! The old formula didn’t kill them, and I have to admit that I was skeptical that this one would be much different, but wow am I impressed. After applying this formula to my two very hairy Great Pyrenees dogs in the afternoon, I was seeing dead fleas on their backs by bedtime, and have seen many more ever since. My poor dogs aren’t scratching as much, and I’m no longer seeing new flea dirt. This treatment is very effective and it’s a good value, so I will certainly buy it again.

This product has the exactly the same active ingredients as the name brand. However, it feels like the medium in which the active ingredients are delivered, is different. When using the name brand, you will notice that the medication would coagulate when it dries, whereas this Amazon Basics product remains liquid. I am speculating that function in the name brand prevents it from running off the dog’s body. Some reviewers commented that this Amazon Basics product is less effective than the name brand. I am thinking this is happening, because when the user fails to apply the entire medication on the dog’s skin and some of it runs off — effectively reducing the amount of medication that is on the dog’s skin. If you take the time and care to apply it, so that all of it is actually on the dog’s skin, there should not be a problem. Remember. The active ingredients are the same, which means, the only way this Amazon Basics product is less effective is if less of it makes it to the dog’s skin. I will continue to use this Amazon Basics product, I will just have to be more careful in applying it on my dog.

Purchased product for use on 3 dogs. 1 dog had a horrible allergic reaction to it, whom has been ok in the past with Advantix. 2 dogs did nothing. Applied 4 days ago and still fleas located. Thought I’d try based on reviews, going back to advantix.

We buy this brand for all of our animals. Works just as great as the more expensive brands. Our short haired Great Dane and long haired Aussiedoodle have had pest free summers!

  7. Mark Dahmen

Didn’t work as good as the expensive stuff.

  8. Ambi

I tried several other treatments e.g. pills, collars, and sprays. These drops were among the most effective flea treatments we tried and saved us from getting another flea infestation. After an application, the next day we couldn’t find any fleas on the dogs. The drops may not last the entire month, but we are too afraid to not keep using this product for fear of an uprising of those 6 legged pests.
