Bought this because I’m tired of chasing my dogs around to spread frontline down their backs just to watch them spitefully jump up on the bed or couch and lie on their backs rubbing it into the fabric. I read the reviews and all I have to say is I guess I’m lucky because so far no symptoms of an allergic reation has happened yet. Granted it has only been a week, but so far so good. I pulled a tick off of me 2 weeks ago – I live in the country, ticks are a problem – but since I put the collars on the “pups” I have yet to see one on them or me. I would give the collar 5 stars but it is too early for that. Let’s see in 5-6 months -I’ll update on how well the collar performs, but the price is right and it’s going well. Update ; These collars are great – no issues or ticks whatsoever. definitely a great deal and it performs as advertised…. 5 stars+

I have such a high hopes for this collar. Unfortunately I removed this collar from my dog after he was wearing for only two days. He was scratching his neck and was very uncomfortable. Even dose of Benadryl was not helpful. Very disappointing .

Flea collars appear to work on my small dogs, no adverse reaction. Good value too

My small terrier was literally covered in fleas despite multiple flea dips, the Adams flea spray and even Frontline plus flea preventive due to the stray cats that have recently moved in to the property next door! I was beside myself on what to do for her without basically burning our home down and moving away. We had literally tried everything from flea bombs to natural products in an effort to get rid of the fleas and were told by the professionals we consulted that the feral cat population in our area usually brings with them pesticide resistant flea population. Well, we gave these collars a try before spending a small fortune on the seresto brand and I’m very pleased to report that they work wonderfully! No more misery for my baby and also no skin issues for her. I was very careful to read the instructions fully and to leave a little extra room between her skin and the collar since I know she has sensitive skin and some others here reported that their dogs got a rash due to these collars. I’m pleased to report after 2 weeks of wearing these that her skin is just fine and we are now officially flea free and she can once again sleep through the night and eat normally without scratching herself to death every 5 seconds! I will report back in a few months to report on the effectiveness over time.

I don’t know what is used in these collars but DO NOT buy them for your pup! We bought these because they come in a 2 pack and we have 2 boxer/pit bull pups that we’ve had since they were born (their mother is our pit Mallory). The pups are both old enough to be able to wear these collars. But after our female pup wore hers for 12 hours, she started to have SEVERE reactions. Her pupils dilated to the point they were HUGE, she had labored breathing, she started whining loudly over and over like she was in pain and she spun around in a circle for about 4/5 hours. We thought we were gonna have to make a trip to the vet. We thought about the fact that she might be having a reaction to the collar so we took it off of her and gave her a bath, washing around her neck where the collar was to get any residue off. Surely enough, about 2 hours after we removed the collar, her symptoms stopped and she went back to normal. When we realized the collar done that to her we immediately took the other one off of our male pup and threw both collars in the garbage. One of our babies almost bit the dust because of this collar! I DO NOT recommend!

These collars are working very well for killing ticks. My beagle got out of the yard and went for a run in the woods all day. The next day I put this collar on him and then one day later took him to the vet. He was dropping little small ticks all over the vets office. His hair was so thick I didn’t even notice them. It was kind of embarrassing but I did explain to the vet what happened. The same thing happened with my hound. He ran off for a day and came home loaded with ticks which started falling off after a few hours of him being back home. He is a couch potato and I was able to see the ticks on him. He managed to get out twice over the course of a week and I have pulled at least 60 ticks off of him. All were dead or dying. The one thing I don’t like about the collar is that it comes off easily. My hound did lose one of his Adam’s collars in the woods, but luckily I had a spare. So far I have not seen any fleas this season but out of the 6 dogs I have that wear these collars, all ticks are dead or dying. The other dogs don’t seem to pick up ticks like the hounds. I did shave the big hairy dogs (great Pyrenees), so I cannot attest to the collars working thru a lot of hair, but they do work on my 100 pound dog. Some people may not understand how flea and tick meds work. The pest DOES have to bite the animal to die. There does not seem to be a repellent factor. Killing pests before they have a chance to breed and lay thousands of eggs will eventually eradicate any pest problem in your yard or home, and prevent future issues. Your pet may still get bitten by the occasional bug if a visitor brings one in, or he goes for walks outside his own territory, but they won’t be able to create an infestation and the problem is greatly minimized. Hopefully soon, there will be a repellant action, but in the meantime, I suggest using a repellant product on your dog and yourself if you’ll be in tick or flea territory.

I bought these for both of my Aussies and they seemed to help. I have a million cats in my neighborhood so fleas were out of control last year. I pair these with flea baths and drops and they have definitely helped both of my dogs repel fleas
