The cable is a great cable. I absolutely love that the clips lock to insure they are stable. Definitely recommend this cable to all my pet owner friends

This will work for a bigger dog, but you have to remove the spring mechanism, it’s cheaply made and a big dog will just pull it apart. Maybe replace the spring with a trampoline spring or just omit that part altogether.

It makes it easy on us since my dog like to run away.
We don’t have to worry for her since it’s very sturdy and long enough to watch her from far while giving her time to explore her surroundings.
Worth the money.

50 pound dog took off when another dog came into our campsite. Spring blew into pieces and dog was released. Dangerous and clearly didn’t work.

First off I have a 53 pound pit bull; hardly a monster of a dog. Previously to buying this junk I used a 1/8″ stainless steel cable that I fashioned with loops at either end and secured it to a post on my deck. Looped and held in place with a removeable steel link. The other end was also looped to hold a steel clasp that attached to the dog’s collar. The issue was the cable would kink and eventually chaff through so I it had to be replaced every 6 months. I checked this product out and it is the same diameter stainless cable with the smooth coating that is supposed to prevent kinking and chaffing. All seemed well until the weak link in the whole affair reared its ugly head this morning.
If you look closely at this thing, you will note that it is, in fact seemingly a well made item until you get to that ridiculous spring assembly. Yes the concept is sound the application is laughable! In order to take up the stress of a dog’s lunge; trust me a 53 pound dog can knock a 200 pound on his back side. The length of the spring is 3 inches! You would need a spring 2 feet long to even hope to suppress the force of a lunge. At any rate the dog was let out at 5 am and apparently lunged at something and the spring link snapped like a pretzel. The dog came when he was called and I retrieved the hook from his collar and attached it to the now “springless” cable end.
So a warning to buyers: If you buy this thing take off that silly spring as it is useless for it’s intended purpose and the metal used is cheap junk!

I love this tie out! I have purchased two and am about to buy another one. BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW, the spring has broken on both of the ones I have. They broke when they were only a month or two old. I have a 45 lb Aussie. If you have a larger dog, either be aware this is going to happen or purchase a different cable (or just take it off, that’s easy enough to do and what I plan to do). That is the ONLY reason this product didn’t get a 5-star review. I love how the colors are visible so I don’t trip over them. I’ve purchased pink and orange. They have faded a bit but I leave them out 24/7 in all weather.

This dog lead is very sturdy and long enough to let your dog run around your yard. My German short hair pointer is 150lbs solid muscle and has run full force and the lead held up even in minesota winters and hot summers. The clubs are nice and sturdy, has a piece to screw onto the other side of clip so it can’t come off the collar unless you unscrew it even though it does stay on our dog just fine without screwing it onto the otherside. I highly recommend this lead for all dog sizes big or small. It’s light weight enough for a tea cup Yorkie yet sturdy enough for German short hair pointer or pit bull. The price is right too.

Works great, the dogs broke the last one I bought from a different company. I like the fact that color was added to the plastic covering, it makes it so much easier to find the ends in the grass.
