I feel like the above is all that really needs to be said. It survived our puppy’s shark teeth and teething stage, and is still his favourite toy months later. It’s not in perfect condition–he likes to gnaw on the wings and they’re starting to show wear–but it’s held up better than many of his other toys and, bonus, doesn’t drive us nuts when he’s playing with it. The ‘squeak’ sounds like a puff of air to us, but definitely engages him.
An update from 6 months after purchase: one wing has been reduced to a nub, but the body is still intact and it’s still a favourite toy. That said, our dog (a 45lb Australian Shepherd) is only a moderate chewer and isn’t very destructive, so I can’t attest to how it would hold up to a determined chewer.

My Two Goldens love their toys to death. The Platypus has made it longer than anything else, and still gets played with every day. I call that a big win.
I credit the “chew guard technology” with saving the platypus’ life. We have another toy with this feature which has made it 60 days.
This platypus is super loveable (according to the doggos). I’ve come to call him Mr. Strong and Silent. No annoying squeak, and super dependable.

It is a very cute toy. We had it for about 3 weeks and it was totally destroyed. Will not hold up to any chewing. The silent squeaker was nice, though, and it was cute and that’s why I gave 3 stars.

Well my dog did love it for a few minutes. I was excited that it was going to be a durable toy that might not end up in the dog toy graveyard or sewing pile. Well I am not quite sure what the squeaker looked like it was silent, at least to me, but I can’t find it. Hopefully it’s under the couch. My dog is rough on toys and he prefers soft toys. Just really hard to find soft toys he can’t eat in a few minutes. Anyway it’s a great idea. Just know that most dogs might not shred it, but not all dogs read the rules. My rule breaker makes it a mission to rip the insides out as fast as possible. We are on our 6th giant lamb chop. I know lamb chop will be in shreds in a few hours, but they last a month or so. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this toy didn’t last long. Update when I was typing this my son found the squeaker. Will add to photos, it doesn’t make the sound anymore or at least he doesn’t hear it. Luckily he didn’t eat it or get it out of the pouch. He still is trying to turn the toy it inside out. Luckily he leaves stuffing for my vacuum. Maybe you should hire my dog for quality control will post a photo of him above lol I will leave 4 stars because it’s cute and probably great for most dogs. Just not a habitual dog toy shredder. I would be willing to have Gus try other toys of yours still, but only after he shreds all his new bark box toys I accidentally might have bought on black Friday, because I thought it was a great deal. Lol only to see how hard he went on this platypus.

9 month Shih Tzu puppy destroyed this in 2 weeks ðŸ˜. He loved the wings for teething but ended up ripping them off, pulling the stuffing from that spot and then snagged the squeaker as you can see. I love the silent squeaker, it’s so much nicer than the constant squeaking noise (and he loves it too), but they need to last longer for chewers pleeaasssse!
He also had the panda from this brand. It lasted longer but was very dirty within a day because so much of it was white. 😒

My pup loves the Penquin. It is still in one piece and not torn. I love the fact that it is a quiet squeaker. The Penquin appears to be made very well.

My dog has had this for over a month no signs of wear has not fallen apart and the best thing although she is rough with it there is no squeakers!

Don’t think the squeaker works but my dog still plays with it sometimes.

Super buen producto!

I went looking for a quieter toy when I just couldn’t stand my furbaby’s constant squeaking of her toys anymore. She absolutely loves her squeaky toys, but it was the absolute worst life choice I’ve ever made to have bought her so many of them. I stumbled across this toy in my search and it’s been a game-changer for us! She LOVES her platypus, and we love that when she chews on it, it just sounds like a puff of air. She’s not a super-agressive chewer, so I can’t speak for its ability to hold up, but I kind of doubt it would be able to handle really rough-chewing. But she’s had it for a couple weeks now and the only damage she’s done has been to gnaw off the tag. It’s become her favorite toy (thankfully!) and I fully intend to replace her other squeaky toys with more like this as she eventually wears them out. So glad I found this before I lost my sanity due to noisy toys!
