This is an easy to use device but only suitable for larger ticks, or those who have been feeding for a few days. Small ticks(<2mm) just get squished by the jaws and slide through them.

Bought one of these while I was in Germany YEARS ago and couldn’t find one since. I’ve found this to be the best way to remove a tick. Great product!

This product was of good quality and seemed promising when we first got it but my wife and I found the spoon type tick remover to be easier to use than this one. It may be because we both have arthritic thumb joints that cause certain movements to be painful.
I use Amazon for most of my purchases and update my reviews if anything changes with the products. I do this so other Amazon users can get a real feel for the life of the product. You can look at my review which will be close to my purchase date and tell how the product is doing as time passes. I am not associated with any company and all opinions are my very own.

This product is a must have for any dog owner, bought one on the off chance and used it a fair few times already!! Easy to use on those pesky ticks

An amazing tool for tick removal!! Just press on the cap it opens to secure the tick , turn a little and the tick pops out!!!!

Works well. Has some nice details to it:
– Arrows at the top for the direction to twist.
– The edge of the pliers are clean cut, which isn’t always common. That’s nice to see.
– The clip to attach it to a shirt pocket like a pen.
Feels really sturdy. While trying to eject a tick I accidentally pulled up the top button/spring mechanisms out (held it poorly) and it snapped right back without issues. That was a nice reassurance of the quality you are buying here. I got two. Really happy. Hands down would recommend this as a reliable product.
Pulled ticks off of the dog and me without issues.
This was an upgrade from the tick tornado or whatever that green scooper is called. I like this one much better. The other device has been much harder to use with a dense coat and clean extraction.

Simple to use sturdy claws even someone with shaking hands can operate them. I like in the south its infested this year. Managed to remove one from my daughter , three from my son and one from my wife. All ticks were still alive and were sent off for testing. Invaluable tool and the best one on the market , do not buy cheap no name brands these literally save your life.

When on holiday in the tropics, there’s always one person who gets far more mosquito bites than anybody else. Our dog is the canine equivalent when it comes to ticks. She gets multiple ticks per day, despite using one of those treatments that gets applied to the back of the neck. Thankfully, we spot most of the ticks before they start feeding, but for the one per day that starts feeding this tick remover is the best thing we have found for removing them, far better than the pet-only tick removers we have tried. Having said that, we’ve just got the dog one of those collars that should both deter and kill ticks, so hopefully the numbers will go down. But this tick remover remains ready for use as required.
Definitely recommended.

Easily removes ticks whole

I have used a similar model for more than 2 decades until I misplaced it. Thank goodness I could find a very similar model here.
A few reasons why I like this model so much;
First of all, some of these tick removers rely on pulling out the tick straight – which works out pretty bad most of the time, as it leaves part(s) of the tick remains stuck in your pet (yuk!) – possibly causing infections and such. Coghlan’s Tick Remover however relies on clamping around the tick and rotating the tick remover 3 times. The tick comes out without leaving anything behind and the tick is nicely clamped so it won’t get away unless you release the Tuck Remover. I have even used it on a person, and it works great and is completely painless.
The overall size of the Tick Remover is also pretty good, considering that my hands are not really small, unlike some other models at Amazon that were fragile and small.
Next, this thing is all plastic, minus the spring inside, and has proven to be very sturdy over the years. Another model I found here was made out of metal and since I clean the Tick Remover each time after use, I’d be worried about those models starting to rust over time.
Bottom line: I highly recommend getting this Tick Remover, in fact, get 2 right away … one for at home and one for in the car.

Small, light, easy to use… and I ended up needing it. Got a deer tick embedded in my arm (crawled up under my sleeve!), and I was glad to have this tool to completely remove it and send it off to a lab. Turns out it was positive for the bacteria that causes Lyme, so I was able to get quick preventative treatment. I was lucky I had this in my first aid kit!
