Very simply, this absolutely unequivocally does NOT work in any capacity. I’m grateful that my cat didn’t have a horrible reaction like some of the other reviewers and my heart truly goes out to them. I tried several natural less toxic things to try and kill my cats fleas and nothing worked. I sprayed my house, vacuumed, washed everything repeatedly daily. I tried several flea baths. Even using Dawn. I first tried the liquid topical once a month flea killer sold on Amazon. Nothing worked. Out of desperation I bought this collar. Again, it did nothing. The only thing that really seemed effective in removing the live fleas was using a flea comb. But there were so many on her that it was never enough. I finally took my cat to the vet because she was miserable. The first thing my vet did was to remove this collar and said, “I always tell patients that these collars do nothing. If you are lucky a couple of fleas might crawl under the collar and eventually die but it does nothing for any other area of the cats body”.

Still vacuuming and treating my house. This is what seems to work so far the best though we aren’t out of the woods yet. Unfortunately some of these are prescription only :

Revolution Plus – not only kills fleas and ticks but also treats ear mites, roundworms, heart worms and hook worms.

Capstar pill – This begins to kill fleas in 30 minutes and continues to kill fleas for 24 hours. This was used once in addition to the Revolution Plus.

Steroid injection – My cat had an allergic reaction to the flea bites which caused terrible itching, scabs everywhere and her fur was falling out in clumps. The steroid injection will stay in her system for 3-5 weeks and helps with the intense itching.

Antibiotic injection – This lasts for 2 weeks in your cat. She had flea dermatitis that caused a secondary bacterial skin infection.

By no means am I saying that you need to do any or some of this for your cat. However I tried to short cut taking her to the vet. Thinking I could just get OTC products and it would be just as good. But she was suffering and I couldn’t watch her go through more itching, scabs, restlessness. I should have taken her to the vet to begin with but I was recovering from surgery and couldn’t. From now on she will be getting Revolution plus every month. Her scabs are healing nicely, she is able to rest and she is itching much less. Her fur is no longer falling out. We still are getting a few stragglers with the flea comb. She was taken to the vet about 10 days ago and already there is an improvement. My vet said that fleas are especially bad this year (none of my cats have ever had fleas) and that even with everything she did to expect it to still be a cycle of flea eggs hatching and fleas for the next 4 months. I hope this can help someone who is desperate to get rid of these nightmare bugs. Picture is after treatment, looking more like herself.

The Pro Flea & Tick Collar for Cats and Kittens offers essential protection against pesky parasites, making it a must-have for any cat owner concerned about their pet’s well-being.

This collar is easy to use, simply fastening around your cat’s neck like a regular collar. Once in place, it provides continuous protection against fleas and ticks, helping to keep your furry friend safe and comfortable year-round.

I’ve found this collar to be highly effective in preventing infestations, with noticeable results within a few days of application. It’s reassuring to know that my cat is protected from these common pests, especially during warmer months when they are most active.

Additionally, the collar is water-resistant, so it remains effective even if my cat gets caught in the rain or decides to take an impromptu bath. This durability ensures long-lasting protection without the need for frequent replacements.

Overall, the Pro Flea & Tick Collar for Cats and Kittens provides peace of mind for both me and my cat. Its ease of use, effectiveness, and durability make it a reliable choice for pet owners looking to safeguard their furry companions against fleas and ticks.

These are my go-to collars. They work pretty good on their own. However, I give 4 stars because the two times my cats had a lot of fleas in their fur, the collars just weren’t enough. I had to buy separate pills for them at the same time as I put them the collar. THEN, the fleas would actually leave their bodies 100%. After that, you can count on these collars to protect them from further fleas.
But just as I said, they aren’t strong enough to remove them if there are lots of them in their bodies to begin with.

I have been using Hartz flea collars for many decades! (I know, shows my age!) They have ALWAY worked. Make sure you follow the directions – you MUST STRETCH them BEFORE you put them on your pet, to activate the medicine. Then smell it & you should smell the medicine. It isn’t strong enough to bother the pet, or their master. We live across the street from a large State Park, & it is loaded with deer, thus it is loaded with ticks. And these deer come into my yard all the time. One time I bought expensive flea & tick medicine from my vet – & it cost $50 PER PET. And guess what? It did not work very well at all – my husband had to pull ticks off my cats, and my dogs. No more! I’m not pulling ticks. They NEVER get fleas or ticks wearing these collars. I only buy Hartz – they have ALWAYS worked for me!
