The main reason why I purchased this word of all was because it had a waterfall effect that my cat loves. Which works okay for a while and then it just now does not produce a waterfall like it did when I first got it I just think maybe the motor they put in the the pump is not a good one to keep producing water flow I mean these things to stay plugged in all day long to filter you figured they will put a quality pump.
Second downfall is the filter only last like a week or two I had to purchase a package of 10 online I thought these filter should last at least 30 days but I went through three of them in one month…
A another issue a third issue is the brown plastic PVC or whatever it is it seems to get a white residue on all the contact areas where water best action or was and I personally give my cat’s clean filtered water from a water filter and I know this shouldn’t be a contaminant in the water when I put it in there and I used this water bowl indoors in my bedroom from my cats… don’t know why that white residue is there I would love to hear that technical parts of Y from the company and other reasons why my pump is not pumping as it should I will give a one star review until I see customer service contact me

We had a Bog Dog fountain by the same brand, but the pump went and we couldn’t find a replacement. Our dog and cat both enjoy drinking running water, so we had to find a replacement.
It looks like it will be easier to clean, the pump is very quiet and it was easy to put together. Holds lots of water, has two filter types. We only use it inside, but it can also be used out doors during warmer months.

Was great while it lasted. Motor died less than a year of use. I cleaned daily. Changed filter weekly. Took it apart monthly to clean all the pieces. Just stopped working.

I have three largish dogs and one cat. Now that I have a outdoor waterer for them on my back deck, I don’t have them all running through my house for water every few minutes and I also feel better that they have access to fresh, cool water as it has been increasingly hot lately!

The filters work, keeping the water mostly clear for a few weeks, which is impressive with two 90 pound long haired dogs and three long haired cats. The capacity is nice as well, doubling that of most competition. The refill system is also really quite nice, with very little chance of leaking water all over the place while being super easy and convenient to monitor and refill.
However, this thing is stupid loud. I can hear it from several rooms away wearing noise cancelling headphones. I have seen others who have adhered bits to the location water falls to deaden the sound, however I haven’t found an adhesive yet that I would trust to be secure while also being food safe.

Easier to clean than previous versions. Extra sponge filter seems to catch more fur and water is always clean in my multiple pet household. It’s the first thing my dog runs to when coming home from a car ride or walk. Very low noise. Dishwasher safe and easy to clean. Filters are easy to change and I love the dual tank design. Would 100% buy again. As long as I have pets I won’t be without one. Fresh running water encourages my cats to drink more which is better for their overall health.

I have two smaller pet fountains made by pet safe, one is over 20 years old, the other is around 15 years old and both function as well today as the first day I bought them. I was thrilled that the big dog fountain uses the same filters as their smaller models as I have plenty of filters. I hope my pets enjoy this fountain as much as they do the smaller version. I purchased this one because of the 3 gallon capacity so my pets can have running water when I go out of town for a long weekend. The smaller models need to be refilled every couple of days.

The fountain itself seems very sturdy and well built, and it all seems to work well so far, however, the pump is LOUD – like to the point I thought it may be broken. The fountain seems to operate fine despite the noise, but the volume is somewhat disruptive/distracting. I really appreciate the huge capacity compared to our old fountain – it is quite helpful for our three dog, two cat household to not have to refill the reservoir quite so frequently.
EDIT: had this review partially/mostly written but hadn’t posted yet. Returned home this afternoon to find that our youngest pup (an 8/9 month old Morkie) punctured both of the reservoir cannisters with his sharp little teeth. 😕 Looks like I will be trying to repair these, going without (pump still works), or looking to buy replacements.

Bought this to replace my blue Big Dog water fountain after the pump died. I have 3 cats and 1 large 85lb dog.
Cons
It’s definitely louder then the one I had b4.
The pump doesn’t seem strong enough to give a good flow out of the fountain opening even when it’s at max flow.
Pros
The pre filter does a great job of catching the hair b4 it gets into the pump.
I love the double reservoir I only have to refill it once every 6-7 days when I clean it. It’s super easy to take apart and clean. I

We have four small dogs. We keep the fountain outside in shade. I love having a large amount of water available for them. Split into two removable tanks is genius as I can just remove whichever tank is empty and refill it. The tanks are enclosed, so I don’t have to worry about anything getting inside them (although I will scour them out occasionally just some something doesn’t grow there).
The noise is minimal. It’s no louder than indoor fountains we have, and most of the noise is just the water splashing (as opposed to the pump). We are going to replace the indoor one we have with another one of these in fact. I would highly suggest this for either multiple dogs, like we have, or large dogs. You won’t regret it.

Photo is from 2023. I’ve had this fountain since 2021. I have the auto refill for the filters, monthly. The pump is still the original. The price has been well worth it for me in the time it has lasted and the time/mess it saves with multiple indoor pets. In the time I have had it. I have broken a clip off the top filter piece. My own fault and lost 3 suction cups for the pump. Again my fault. I do use this indoor. I have a water mat under it. The only noise I have is the waterfall noise which doesn’t bother me. This supplies 2 dogs (boxer/pomchuahua) and 3 cats. Buying one now for a family member with 4 dogs!
