Easy install if you are good with varying saws / tools. It isn’t ridiculously better at temperature regulating . Not much more than the brand we’ve all probably replaced from the big pet store . But it is chunkier and sturdier than the aforementioned brands.

Our backyard is downstairs, so going up & down the stairs several times a day needed a solution. This is a great solution. It opens when they are near it & seals when they are not. It has the option to lock if you need to. However, we have a fence & not worried about tagalongs. It allows us to be gone for longer periods & not worry about coming back to let them out. Totally recommend.

This is a necessity piece for the in-wall installation of the PetSafe Dog Door. For 100 bucks you get a plastic sleeve with a frame much bigger than the dog door. Don’t waste your money. We returned it and made a sleeve out of cement board. Looks much better and works the same.

Pros: it arrived super quick, like the next day, way earlier than expected. I was super pleased. Fairly easy to install I’ve heard but only if you’ve installed a door before. I had not so it took a few additional cuts to get things evened out.
Cons: it’s annoying that we even had to buy an extension lol. I saw there’s yet another extension if your wall is thicker than normal. These pieces should come together with the original packaging. I paid for a few inches of cheap plastic lol.

A little disappointed with the construction of the extension kit. It doesn’t make sense at all to have “ribs” on the tunnel section which creates openings for water to drip down into the wall cavity. I had to caulk the gaps. It should be a simple, straight extension tube of thicker plastic. The trim is fine.
Doing it again, I WOULD buy it but just not much choice that’s available. Instructions were very clear & spot-on.
I also installed non-slip as I was afraid the dogs would slip on the plastic while coming & going.

This door has been a godsend in my household of two indoor-outdoor dogs and two indoor housecats. Our animals had been used to coming and going into our backyard through a standard pet door. However, after we moved into town with traffic, we didn’t want our two cats outdoors. This electronic door has worked really well allowing only our dogs with the “keys” on their collars to go out. The cats tried for days to get out through the doors, scratching, pawing, and ramming the door, but they finally gave up. They must have thought the dogs knew some magical code to Open Sesame.
We did not have a door that would allow us to insert the doggy door so our contractor cut a hole through the exterior wall next to our French doors. We used the door plus the wall install kit. Everything fit perfectly. The “key,” a bell-shaped plastic unit with a circular base that holds the battery and screws into place is a bit bulky for our small dogs. The metal loop that comes with the unit is too light and bendable. One of our dogs lost the key in the grass, and we had to order another one at a cost of almost $20. I like that we can set the door to automatic use with the keys, to always open, or to locked.
So far, we are very pleased with this electronic doggy door.

We have two dogs that used to have accidents in the house. Since getting this dog door we have enjoyed an accident free home. Installation was a breeze (we also used the extension kit – make sure you read dimension requirements and measure your wall carefully) and the dogs got used to using the door within one week. Now it’s like having two kids who can’t make up their minds to stay in or go outside. Also, warn your postman, UPS and FedEx guy when you install the door. It kind of freaks them out when the dogs come bursting through the wall. This door appears to be well made and snaps shut with authority. You can lock the door, let it free swing (it still snaps shut but dogs push it open with their noses) or put it on magnetic lock and it will only open when dog, wearing a magnetic fob on its collar, gets close to door and pushes it (door remains locked until dog gets close). This door seats tightly and has never blown open from wind or allowed rain or dust to enter. I HIGHLY recommend this door.
